Sonny's is great. Good service and great food for a reasonable price. Plus, the atmosphere is perfect for any CSU or College Football fan with a whole bunch of Sonny memorabilia around. The side table salad service is great- a chance to get the perfect salad with everything just as you like it. Not sure what these complainers are talking about- give it a try and you won't be disappointed!

My wife, 19-month old daughter and I went to Lubick's with her parents for what we had hoped would be an outstanding meal; sadly, it was not to be.

My father-in-law ordered the Thai scallops, which were rubbery and tough, like chewing on a spicy gasket; my mother-in-law ordered the 9 oz. filet which was underdone and tasteless, not what you'd expect for $25-30; my wife, who in fairness to the chef is extremely finicky, had a chicken kabob which was extremely dry and had the consistency of cardboard; and I had the sea bass which was covered in walnuts and some red sauce - something I would have asked not to be put on but the menu doesn't tell you what comes on your entree - anyway, the fish was chewy and all I could taste was walnuts. I have to agree with the poster above that the salad at table side deal has got to go - it's a timewaster when all you're getting is a salad and there's no "show" involved in the presentation. It seems an odd choice at best. My daughter had the best meal of all: graham crackers and milk brought from home. And one piece of asparaagus from her grandfather's plate. At least one of us left satisfied.

Our waitress was inattentive and seemed harried, odd since there's only about 16 tables in the entire place and she had a helper who seemed to do more actual work. And she had a small section it seemed. Perhaps we came on a bad night, I don't know, but I will give the place another chance at redemption, but not very soon.

I should add that the atmosphere of the restaurant is GREAT and it's very nicely done inside. Overall, I'd give it a "C".
Outstanding!

We thoroughly enjoyed our evening at Sonny Lubick's Steakhouse! This restaurant is a top-notch addition to Fort Collins ~ a refreshing change from the chains we are used to. The service was prompt and professional, the martinis were icily served from the shakers at our table, the prime rib was perfectly done with the au jus seasoned perfectly seasoned, and the sides were delicious. The new decor, the signature dishes, the music ~ the entire experience was delightful. Well done! We'll be back for dinner but also to sample the new lunch menu.

Not only will the food be like a party in your mouth, but the atmosphere and service is the best I have seen. As you walk down the steps to the steakhouse there is a mural of Sonny walking up from the Sonny Lubick Stadium. The ambiance of the building is calming the second you walk through the door. When I entered, there was no wait. However, if there is when you dine, many of Sonny's class rings, photos, and other memorabilia are displayed for you to enjoy.

There are two dining rooms and a bar. When I was there, my guests and I had dessert at the bar. The bar tender fits the personality of a bar tender to a T! He is talkative and engaging.

The desserts we had were a Key Lime Pie and a Flourless Chocolate Torte. Both were amazing! I had the Flourless Chocolate Torte, which is Gluten Free for those who are Gluten intolerant. The Torte was topped with a dollop of whipped cream with a chocolate wafer placed on top. Raspberry sauce was lightly drizzled on the plate for the last touch. It was moist and mouth watering. I will be going there again!

My wife and I went to Sonny Lubicks the second week it was open. For the most part, we liked the change in decor from the old Catacombs, but the addition of televisions takes away from the intimacy of the bar.

We were seated right away at a nice little table and waited...and waited...and waited. The restaurant looked adequately staffed and we couldn't figure out why it took over twenty minutes to get the attention of the waiter. Then we figured it out. For some reason, they have decided to mix and toss all of their salads by hand at the tables (including caesar salads). This "feature" completely bogs down the entire process. Frankly, the salads were the least impressive part of the meal. The lettuce of the dinner salad is regular iceberg lettuce and the topping choices weren't particularly original. I have no idea why they chose to do this. Do they think it adds class to the dinner? Bewildering.

The rest of the meal was pretty good. I had the ribeye, which was overcooked on one side but otherwise good and my wife's filet was good. Having said that, it might have been good because it was over an hour before we got our salads and roughly an hour and a half before we got our entrees. The wine list is good and reasonably priced.
