Rio Grande Mexican Restaurant

We agree with Liz, that the noisy environment can be a bane or a blessing, depending on your mood. To avoid the noisy hours go early. The margaritas are great, and the restaurant is appealing. The food, though not exceptional, has been relatively consistent over the years. Last Sunday I had a relleno, with salsa on the side, that was probably the best I have had outside of homemade...fresh, with stem on, perfect batter. Well done...rellenos are my benchmark for Tex-Mex. The blue corn tortilla/spinach enchilada was good too. The fish tacos were a bit dry.

Always busy, but I never seem to understand why. The food is not phenomenal, but the salsa and the margaritas are great.

The margaritas are tasty, but the food is, apparently, inconsistent. We had a horrible food experience, while others seem to like it. Noisy atmosphere - could be good or bad depending on what you're looking for. Fun for drinks, but maybe not for dinner conversation...
